Respected and critically acclaimed singer songwriters M G Boulter and Samantha Whates are at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Friday 26 June at 8pm. Tickets are £16.50.
The duo have been collaborating since 2014 and are set to release their third collaborative project in 2026. Flower Days is a collection of alt-folk and experimental recordings, inspired by flowers and their cultural significance throughout history.
M G Boulter is a songwriter and musician living on the Thames coast in Essex. Serving his apprenticeship in numerous bands in the hotbed of the Southend-on-Sea pub scene, M G came to lead as singer and guitarist, the popular country rock band The Lucky Strikes. He has since worked on projects and collaborations. He creates vignettes of suburban lives and seaside communities, and his albums have featured in the top ten end of year lists of publications including the Daily Telegraph. He has been described as a ‘weapons grade songwriter’.
Samantha Whates is a Scottish singer songwriter who has released several albums across a range of record labels, including Rough Trade Records. She is regularly played on BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6. Her beautifully crafted poetic songs retain an affinity with her Scottish roots, cultivating a sound that is contemporary, rooted in tradition, yet uniquely her own.
With an enduring passion for collaboration, counter melody and close harmony, you’re as likely to find Whates singing backing vocals on worldwide arena tours for Noel Gallagher or soundtracking esoteric animation and Balearic tunes as you are recording a duet while sitting in a canoe with award winning Danish singer-songwriter Ida Wenoe.
The gig is presented as part of Everywhere At Once Festival powered by The National Lottery. A nationwide live music event taking place from 26 – 28 June, bringing together over 1000 gigs, over 400 venues in one weekend. It is the UK’s biggest music festival on your doorstep and a different kind of festival: closer to the music, where local matters, where everyone belongs.
Tickets are £16.50
