Veteran comedian Simon Evans brings latest show back to Maidenhead

Simon Evans is Back! Waaaay back…Simon Evans is Staring at the Sun returns to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday 2 July at 8pm, after a sell-out show earlier this year. Tickets are £19.50.

With growing evidence that we are living in a computer simulation - and a pretty glitchy, off-brand simulation at that, BBC Radio 4 stalwart and veteran of a quarter century of highly acclaimed stand-up comedy Simon Evans is squinting at an uncertain future and revisiting the blue remembered hills of his youth.

Simon Evans is one of the UK’s most respected and best loved comedians. Familiar from numerous TV and radio appearances, as well as for his live tour shows and festival appearances. He has been at the top of his game for nearly thirty years.

Long before he was a stand-up comedian, Simon always wanted to be a writer, ideally a columnist in the mode of his hero, Alan Coren (or his hero, SJ Perelman). After lockdown curtailed his live work, he now has a regular column in Spiked Online and has other published work. Simon has previously written for TV shows such as The Big Breakfast, They Think It’s All Over, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and more.
