St John’s Chamber Orchestra return to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Saturday 10 October at 7.30pm with a wide-ranging programme, framed by two celebratory works. Tickets are £21.50 (plus a £1.90 per transaction booking fee) | Under 18s free.
This evening features Yume Tomita on violin and Arthur Kokeraihas on piano.
Zimbabwean virtuoso Arthur Kokerai has trained in Moscow and London and will be a perfect match for Beethoven’s sparkling First Concerto. Arthur is a young rising classical pianist and composer, born in 2006. He began his formal training at the age of six at the renowned Gnesin Special School of Music in Moscow, graduating in 2024. Following his time in Russia, he moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music.
British-Japanese violinist Yume Tomita will be the soloist in Saint-Saen’s scintillating showpiece, Florence Price’s heartfelt movement for strings provides a moment of respite before Mozart’s magnificent Jupiter Symphony.
Yume Tomita is an 18 year old violinist and Grand Prize winner of the II Piccolo Violino Magico International Competition in 2021. Most recently, she was awarded 3rd prize at the Hengqin International Mozart Competition (2025), adding to an impressive list of international distinctions. She began playing at the age of five and gave her first recital in Italy at seven.
The concert is conducted by Maidenhead resident Nigel Wilkinson. Norden Farm welcomes back the former senior producer for BBC Radio 3.
