Tango music trio return to Norden Farm

A collective of musicians who share a love for Argentine tango - Tango Calor are at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday 4 December at 8pm. Tickets are £17.50.

Tango Calor was formed by bandoneonist Mirek Salmon in 2016. The group is also joined by guitar virtuoso Daryl Kellie and sensational vocalist Jimi Can.

Mirek is an experienced accordionist, pianist and bandoneonist. He has performed with BBC orchestras, Welsh National Opera and the Royal Shakespeare Company amongst others. His music has appeared on series for BBC1, Channel 4 and the Discovery Channel.

Daryl Kellie has been described by D’Addario strings as ‘truly stunning’. His vibrant multi-layered technique is sure to enthral lovers of acoustic blues and jazz, pop and rock alike. He is currently receiving huge acclaim across the guitar world for his unique arrangements of classic songs, whilst his own songs, both vocal and instrumental, are a breath of fresh air.

Jimi Can is a consummate showman who is a key figure from Bristol’s burgeoning Afro-Cuban and Flamenco music scenes. He blends his Spanish and Cuban roots with a variety of other musical influences to create a fusion style that incorporates Latin rhythms, flamenco and Afro-Cuban music.

Tango Calor have performed in tango clubs and festivals up and down the country. Recently they have appeared in festivals in Italy and have accompanied visiting artists from Argentina.

Together they will take you on a journey from the classic tango of 1930s Buenos Aires to the beloved music of Astor Piazzolla and may even include some surprise versions of more contemporary hits.

Expect romance, passion and fireworks.
