Norden Farm celebrates community creativity as part of 25th anniversary

As part of their 25th anniversary celebrations, Norden Farm presents The Great Big Community Show on Saturday 20 September at 8pm. Tickets are £10.

This celebratory evening will feature performances from local groups including the Norden Farm Daytime Choir, Maidenhead Drama Guild, Norden Farm Evening Choir, Maidenhead Concert Band, Norden Farm Bring Baby Choir, Maidenhead Operatic Society and Norden Farm’s Salsa Group.

The event will be hosted by the incomparable Jeff Lloyd of The Vinyl Frontier fame.

Local groups will have tables in Norden Farm’s foyer letting audiences know about their work and how people can get involved. If you are a local arts group that would like a table, please get in touch with the team at admin@nordenfarm.org

Norden Farm’s Chief Executive and Artistic Director Jane Corry says: ‘Community is at the heart of everything we do. We are thrilled to showcase local talent as the finale to this week of celebrations for our 25th anniversary.’ 

Norden Farm was dreamed into existence by Maidonians passionate about the arts and determined to have an arts centre in their town. Lobbying began in the 1970s when Maidenhead Arts, an umbrella organisation for local arts groups was set up to help achieve the vision.

The arts centre opened its doors in 2000 and 25 years later it has grown into the thriving centre for the arts it is today. 

This special event celebrating the creativity of our community, is the culmination of a week of live events, designed to showcase the centre piece of Norden Farm - the Courtyard Theatre and the iconic Model D Steinway piano - and spotlighting artists with special connectivity to Norden Farm.

The week of celebrations kicks off with events with the seats taken out of the Courtyard Theatre - creating a dance friendly arena. Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet on Saturday 13 September - a night of fun, laughter and plenty of dancing and The Rhymatones on Tuesday 16 September - a local band with a vintage vibe and space for swing dance and jive.

The anniversary week continues with the Norden Farm Forever Gala on Wednesday 17 September. A sparkling night featuring a 3-course sit-down dinner, amazing auction prizes and a cabaret show.

The Courtyard Theatre seats go back in for Thursday 18 September as Norden Farm favourite, comedian Mark Watson returns for a sell-out performance of his latest show Before It Overtakes Us. Followed by The Clare Teal 5 on Friday 19 September - also celebrating their 25th anniversary.

The week concludes with The Great Big Community Show – putting the creativity of the community centre stage at this unmissable event.
