Legoland 30th birthday cake

It’s a piece of cake… made entirely of bricks! The LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort has celebrated the start of its 30th year in spectacular style by unveiling a giant birthday cake built from a staggering 200,000 LEGO® bricks.

The colourful creation, which took a team of five expert model makers 1,000 hours to design and build, is a joyful tribute to the attraction’s three decades of creativity, play, and imagination, where awesome family memories are made.

The 13 feet tall LEGO model, which features birthday and Windsor themed toppers – including Woodland Village, Maximus the Sky Lion, Minifigure Speedway’s Roxie, and Miniland’s London Skyline, has gone on display in time for February half-term and for the return of the attraction’s Brick Days to kick start the attraction's 30th birthday celebrations.

LEGOLAND Windsor’s longest-serving creative duo  model makers, Paula Laughton and Paula Young have been busy organising the finishing touches to the cake, and together have dedicated an extraordinary 55 years to bringing the park’s iconic LEGO builds to life.

Ramesh Ganeson, Vice President at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, said: “For three decades, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort has been a place where imaginations come to life and families create memories they’ll treasure forever. Unveiling the giant LEGO cake to open the Resort is just the start of the extraordinary celebrations we have planned throughout 2026  there are more incredible builds and experiences still to come! We are so excited to celebrate our 30th year and can’t wait to open for the season and see guest’s reactions.”

Paula Young, Head of Creative & Contracts, at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, said: “In my 27 years at LEGOLAND, this moment is truly special. Unveiling this incredible cake is the perfect way to kick off our 30th birthday celebrations. Every detail captures the fun, imagination, and creativity that has defined LEGOLAND Windsor for three decades. It’s not just a cake; it’s a joyful tribute to the memories we’ve made and the adventures still to come.”

Since opening in March 1996, LEGOLAND Windsor has welcomed millions of guests from across the globe, becoming a much-loved destination for families and LEGO fans alike.

The giant cake is the first of many special surprises planned throughout 2026, as the Resort celebrates its landmark year.
