New for 2013, groups can enjoy over two hundred recently replanted hydrangea cultivars as they peak in Summer Wood during August, representing one of the most diverse collections in the country. The Savill Garden also has two new sculptures to enjoy. ‘Lie of the Land’ is an artwork by New Zealand sculptor John Edgar and is located in the New Zealand Garden. The award winning Rose Garden has a new standing stone feature by the distinguished sculptor Martin Cook. It is made from Welsh slate and carries the verse from a Robert Graves poem, ‘How hot the scent is of the summer rose’.

As part of your group’s visit to The Savill Garden, you can enjoy a pre-booked Royal Garden Party Afternoon Tea in a private marquee as part of a visit to the Garden (April to September). With tables set with crisp linen cloths and fresh flowers, guests can enjoy a magnificent full afternoon tea served on fine bone china. The price is £24.50 per person which includes admission to The Savill Garden. (The minimum group size is 30 and the maximum is 60).

Nick Day, The Crown Estate’s Operations Manager, says:

“Here at The Savill Garden, in Windsor Great Park, we welcome groups throughout the year and we always aim to make the visit a special and unique occasion. We have new areas of the Garden to enjoy and there are always different things to see and do each year.”

A senior assessor from Visit England commented:

“The Savill Garden offers the visitor an overall excellent quality experience.”

The Savill Garden is one of England’s finest woodland and ornamental gardens with 35 acres of trees, shrubbery, ponds and streams, lawns, meadows and formal beds which are home to some of the world’s most decorative plants. It is a garden of beauty and colour where visitors journey through interconnecting gardens, each one coming into its own in different seasons.

A stunning highlight of The Savill Garden for groups to enjoy from June to September is the award winning avant-gardeRose Garden. It provides an intense sensory experience with roses specially chosen for their scent, strong colours and repeat flowering. As the deep aroma of the roses naturally rises, visitors can enjoy the perfume at its best, together with wonderful garden views, from a rising walk way.The Rose Garden is supported by adjacent plantings including the magnificent double herbaceous borders which are vibrant with flowers in reds, oranges and yellows and the more subtle cottagey style of the Golden Jubilee Garden where old garden favourites can be appreciated.

Look out for special events suitable for groups. These include the Specialist Plant Fair in May which offers free entry (normal car park charges apply); the Celebration of the Rose Weekend in June, when visitors can enjoy a Royal Afternoon Tea in a marquee on the Lawns, NAFAS floral displays in the Savill Building, and a rose themed menu in the Savill Garden restaurant; together with outdoor theatre in August and sculpture in the Garden for September and October.

The iconic Savill Building, gateway to The Savill Garden, is home to the superb gift shop which provides a wide range of tempting giftware, stationeryand books, including Windsor Great Park gifts; together with an outdoor plant area which stocks plants from the Royal Gardens.

The self service restaurant, managed by Leith’s, has an exciting group catering menu. Enjoy either a two course lunch menu or a classic cream tea, in one of three dedicated dining areas. Alternatively, you can pre-purchase catering vouchers (to be used Monday to Friday inclusive).
