Star of Mock The Week and Live At The Apollo Angela Barnes brings her new show Angst to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Wednesday 4 March at 8pm. Tickets are £18.50.
Angela is a worrier. Whatever it is, she’ll worry about it. But don’t let that worry you – she’ll worry enough for the both of you.
This hilarious show has some stories of success and sound logic, but mostly features stories of unmitigated failure, a distinct lack of wisdom, a little bit of German and loads of jokes.
Angela Barnes began her career as a nurse and worked in social care. But as a fan of comedy, she ran comedy nights in Brighton. Angela’s father, who died in 2008 had an important influence on her comedy and always encouraged her to be a comedian. So, a year after his death, she decided that life was too short not to pursue it as a career. She did a 12-week workshop in Brighton and a few months later started her stage career.
Since winning the BBC Radio 2’s New Comedy Award 2011, Angela has continued to be a regular on the stand-up circuit, playing bigger venues. She has also appeared on Russell Kane’s Whistlestop Tour for BBC Radio 2, written for BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz and performed at festivals including the Latitude festival. In 2013, she joined the cast of the topical show Stand Up for the Week and is a regular panellist on The News Quiz.
Angela’s last tour Hot Mess received critical acclaim and was filmed as a special available on ITVX. She has also appeared on Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, BBC’s House of Games and she co-hosts the popular comedy history podcast We Are History.
This comedy night in Norden Farm’s Courtyard Theatre is not to be missed.
Tickets are £18.50
