A colourful children’s story comes to the stage in Maidenhead

An adaptation of the colourful picture book Flyaway Katie comes to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Wednesday 1 April at 11.30am and 2pm. Tickets are £13.30 | £11.50 under 16s | Family and Friends (4 people) £45. Age guidance 2 – 7 years.

Katie is all alone and feeling grey. The birds in the picture on her wall look so colourful – if only Katie could be as bright as them, who knows what might happen?

The show is bursting with colour, movement and surprises, with puppets of varying scales acting the story.

Presented by Long Nose Puppets, who launched in 2006. The theatre company produce much loved and critically acclaimed puppet shows for children. Co-founded by Katherine Morton and Polly Dunbar, who studied illustration at Brighton University where they often worked together on creating characters and stories. Polly is the author and illustrator of Flyaway Katie.

Katherine and Polly make the puppets out of anything and everything, such as latex, wood, furniture, socks, old umbrellas and the odd lampshade.

Flyaway Katie is a 35 minute show of pure joy followed by 15 minutes of meet the puppets.
