Annual Mozart celebrations in Maidenhead
The annual Mozart concert offers another unmissable selection of works, ending with the most irrepressibly joyous of the composer’s early symphonies. Mozart Birthday Concert is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Saturday 25 January at 7.30pm. Tickets are £20 | Under 18s free.
Featuring Xiaowen Shang on piano. She is nominated at one of the BBC Music Magazine’s Rising Stars of 2024. Xiaowen Shang has recently appeared at the BBC Proms and the Wigmore Hall. She plays a sparkling piano concerto with a memorable hunting-style finale.
Rheo Jo is plays the oboe. She is the former principal with the National Youth Orchestra and now a student at the Royal College of Music. She performs the Oboe Concerto in C, K.314. Maidenhead based flautist Julia Bentley-Dawkes opens the programme with the elegant Andante in C.
The concert is conducted by Maidenhead resident Nigel Wilkinson. Nigel is an examiner for the Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was also a senior producer on BBC Radio 3.
