Two friends have a simple dream: to own a farm and live off the fat of the land. Of Mice and Men is at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts on Thursday 19 November at 8pm. Tickets are £18 (plus a £1.90 per transaction booking fee).
Set against the harsh backdrop of the Great Depression, Of Mice and Men is the story of George and Lennie.
There are times, though, when sharp-witted George feels the burden of looking after Lennie, while gentle giant Lennie doesn’t realise his own strength. As they drift from job to job, trouble’s never far away and before long it’s time to move on again.
When the pair get work in Soledad, California, the dream looks set to become a reality. But a tragic turn of events threatens to destroy George and Lennie’s friendship and leaves George faced with an impossible choice…
Steinbeck wrote Of Mice and Men in 1937, based on his own experiences as a teenager working alongside migrant farm workers in the 1910s.
This theatre production comes to Norden Farm’s Courtyard Theatre, presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International. Starring Nigel Miles Thomas and Michael Roy Andrew. It is adapted from the book by John Steinbeck and directed by Larry Lamb.
Tickets are £18 (plus a £1.90 per transaction booking fee).
