Rachael McShane & The Cartographers

About

Traditional folk with a modern twist

Prepare for a powerful blend of traditional folk and contemporary sounds as Rachael McShane and the Cartographers head to Norden Farm Centre for the Arts in Maidenhead on Saturday 4 October at 8pm. Tickets are £15.

Rachael McShane is a renowned folk singer, cellist, fiddle and viola player. The Cartographers feature the exceptional talents of guitarist Ian Stephenson (Kan, Baltic Crossing) and melodeon player Julian Sutton (Kathryn Tickell, Sting). Beautiful singing and impressive instrumental playing along with innovative arrangements combine in this refreshing take on traditional folk - placing their new album among the best sounds in folk 2025.

Racheal McShane gained fame as an original member of the award-winning folk big band Bellowhead. She toured with them extensively and made a number of television appearances. They won a staggering total of eight BBC Folk Awards.

Rachael is a much sought-after performer and recording artist. Her debut solo album, No Man’s Fool arrived in 2009 via Navigator Records, establishing impressive credentials that eventually led her to signing with the prestigious Topic Records, the oldest independent record label in the world.

From Bellowhead to bold new horizons, Rachael McShane and the Cartographers bring a night of folk music with stunning vocals and unmissable musicianship to Maidenhead this October.
