When Nyla has to leave her home in the countryside to start life again in the city, all she can think about is everything she misses from before. So when a comet comes crashing through the city streets and starts to glow and grow, Nyla can’t resist a chance to head somewhere that feels closer to what she had before… but what starts as an escape could be just the thing to make her finally feel at home.
The Comet book is by renowned British author and illustrator Joe Todd Stanton. He won the coveted Waterstones Children's Book Prize in 2018. The book has been adapted by StoryDen, with permission from the author. Research and development included workshops at local schools, where pupils explored the book and its themes.
The Comet features original music, songs, puppetry and projections.
The performances on Sat 29 Nov at 11am and Sun 28 Dec at 11am are Relaxed - everyone is welcome to join us for this friendly format. The lights are kept on low and the audience are free to move around, make noise or come in and out of the theatre as needed.
The performance on Sat 27 Dec at 2pm will be signed.
