On Saturday 14 March 2026 at 7.30pm at the Braywick Leisure Centre, Maidenhead, SL6 1BN, we will be performing this exciting concert:
Glinka Overture: Ruslan and Ludmila.
The best-known music from this opera is its showpiece rollicking overture. Strauss Horn Concerto No 1. This is a sparkling, joyful early work from 1883 when Strauss was a mere eighteen-year-old.
This evening our star orchestra member Jessica Ortony performs this concerto, displaying her wonderful technique and musicality for all to enjoy. Mahler Symphony No. 5. This is a tumultuous journey from the darkness of a funeral march to brilliant light, via its famous Adagietto – the
tenderest musical love letter in the repertoire.
