Outdoor Dining in the Windsor Area

What could be nicer than dining al fresco by the riverside?  Côte Brasserie is on the Eton side of the Thames, just by the pedestrian bridge that separates Windsor and Eton.  Request a table on the terrace right by the water’s edge for a perfect view of Windsor Castle and a great place to watch the river traffic float by!  Or cross to the Windsor side and settle down at a terrace table with river views at Sir Christopher Wren Hotel.

For the ultimate combination of relaxation and sightseeing, charter a private boat with The Boat Hire Company or Boating at Bray and enjoying a floating al fresco experience.  Provide your own food or opt for one of their inclusive drinks, brunch, lunch or afternoon tea packages.

Gilbey's in Eton features outside tables right on the high street for those who like to watch the world go by, as well as a private courtyard with just four tables for those who prefer to eat outdoors. It's a cosy space decorated with pretty flowers and plants in the summer (courtyard available for weekend lunches and dinners only).

Plate at No. 6, on the cobbled streets behind Windsor Guildhall, has outside tables and chairs so you can enjoy tapas with a view of Windsor Castle and the Guard March!

Why not escape to the country?  Enjoy some laid-back luxury at Hurley House Hotel where their unique terraces will give your al fresco dining a wonderful rural feel.  Sample food from their international menu or their Japanese menu featuring the freshest sushi in Berkshire!  Savour the views at Danesfield House Hotel where its sun-drenched terrace is the perfect choice in the warmer months.  At Cliveden House enjoy a delicious lunch in the relaxed setting of The Astor Grill, located in the charming old stable block, which once housed Lord Astor’s most prized fillies.  The menu focusses on a mixture of classic American and British dishes.
