The beautiful town of Windsor was the setting for two royal weddings in 2018: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on 19 May, and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on 12 October.
Both couples chose to marry in the historic St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle and to enjoy a horse-drawn carriage procession through the streets of Windsor.
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank became the seventeenth royal couple to celebrate their marriage at Windsor Castle since 1863.
Since the engagements were announced and it was revealed that St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle would be the venue for both wedding ceremonies, the town of Windsor worked tirelessly to ensure memorable days for both happy couples and everybody who came to celebrate.
If you were inspired by what you saw on television then come and experience the Windsor Welcome for yourself! There has never been a better time to visit!

No trip to Windsor could possibly be complete without a visit to amazing Windsor Castle. It’s the jewel in the Royal Borough’s crown and has been the family home to British kings and queens for over 1,000 years.
It is the largest and oldest occupied Castle in the world, an official residence of His Majesty The King and the final resting place of Queen Elizabeth II.
Once inside, your ticket allows you to visit many areas including the fabulous State Apartments and St George’s Chapel where the wedding ceremony of Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle, and Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank took place.
St George’s Chapel is located in the Lower Ward of Windsor Castle and was the setting for the royal wedding ceremony of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.
A visit to St George’s Chapel is included in your Windsor Castle ticket or you are most welcome to attend services at St George’s Chapel, which are free to all.
St George’s is regarded as one of the most beautiful ecclesiastical buildings in England and when you step inside you can’t help but be in awe – with its tall slender pillars, vast windows and magnificent stone fan vaulted ceiling it’s simply breath-taking.
The chapel’s history is intricately linked with that of the royal family and it has been the setting for many royal weddings. It’s also the site of royal tombs and memorials; look out for the vault containing the coffins of Henry VIII and Charles I under the centre of the Quire.
Frogmore House was the setting for Prince Harry and Ms Meghan Markle’s engagement photographs and also where the newly-married Duke and Duchess had their evening wedding reception on 19 May. It’s alleged that The Duchess of Sussex considered Frogmore ‘dreamy’. Nearby Frogmore Cottage remains the UK residence for the duke and his family.
Frogmore House has been a favourite royal retreat for more than 300 years, first becoming a royal residence when George III bought it for his wife Queen Charlotte.
Queen Charlotte’s passion for botany is reflected in the house’s interior decoration. Her passion for plants can also be seen throughout the garden where thousands of trees and shrubs create a beautiful landscape.
Frogmore was much loved by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, so much so that they broke with tradition and had a mausoleum built for themselves in Frogmore's grounds (please note the mausoleum is not open to the public).
Frogmore House is one of Windsor’s hidden gems, open to visitors for only a few days each spring and to groups later in the summer.
