Step ‘through the looking glass’ and enjoy an Alice in Wonderland exhibition taking place across Royal Borough libraries this year.
From April to December 2026, a free touring exhibition of artwork from the original editions of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland will visit libraries across the Royal Borough.
With kind permission from Pan Macmillan, the original publisher of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, 24 iconic illustrations drawn by Sir John Tenniel for the original stories by Lewis Carroll have been specially reproduced for display, and presented in a walk-through gallery inside each library. No booking is required; visitors can drop-in during normal library opening hours.
The schedule is as follows:
April – Sunninghill
May – Maidenhead
June – Cox Green
July – Ascot Durning
August – Windsor
September – Cookham and Old Windsor
October – Boyne Grove and Wraysbury Container Library
November – Dedworth
December – Datchet and Eton Wick
The exhibition supports the National Year of Reading in 2026, encouraging people to reconnect with reading and discover something new alongside much‑loved classics.
