Step in to the season in style with this sparkling midnight jazz performance.

A Child's Christmas is a festive suite composed in 2011 by Ronnie Scott's resident pianist and Mercury Music Prize nominated recording artist, Stan Tracey.

The elegant and creative Mike Goff Quartet perform the suite in full, alongside a dramatic reading of its inspiration, Dylan Thomas' much-loved story, A Child's Christmas In Wales. Their previous performances include Oxford Festival of the Arts, Marlow Jazz Club, Jazz at St Giles and Jazz at Progress in Reading.

By special arrangement, the evening features a selection of Peter Bailey's joyful, snow-laden illustrations from the Orion print edition, and we're delighted to support the British Red Cross as an acknowledgement of his kind permission.

With antics in the snow, snoring uncles, doting aunts, and an errant hippopotamus, Thomas' nostalgic tale evokes the happiest memories of Christmases past. The story is energetically interpreted and elevated with seven tunes by the great jazz composer, also known for his 1965 suite based on Under Milk Wood.

Hosted after-hours in the welcoming and cosy main bar at The Hope, with seasonal decorations and a warming mulled wine at the bar, A Child's Christmas Jazz Suite promises to create new memories to cherish this festive season.

Windsor Jazz Club is held at the relaxing and atmospheric Hope live music bar on Alma Road in Windsor. The club brings new artists to the town, playing a mixture of well-loved jazz standards and original compositions. This performance starts at midnight (with doors opening at 11:30pm) and presents an hour and a half of live music with an interval halfway. The music finishes by 2am and the venue closes at 2:30am. Come along to meet other lovers of live music, jazz followers, aficionados and musicians. The bar is well stocked with a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, juices, hot drinks and snacks. We look forward to meeting you.
