Now in its fifth exciting year, the Windsor Local History Group (WLHG) annual Open Day offers visitors a valuable opportunity to engage with the fascinating heritage of Windsor and many of its surrounding towns and villages. This FREE event is open to everyone and will take place on Saturday 8th November at Windsor Baptist Church, Victoria Street, SL4 1EH from 11am-4pm. Great for anyone interested in learning more about Windsor! The Mayor of the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, Cllr Mandy Brar, and The Mayor’s Consort will officially launch the Open Day at 11:00am.
New exhibits this year include a scale model of the 1860 Windsor Landau built for Sir Daniel Gooch and the story behind legendary boatbuilder George Pocock’s Blue Plaque at The George Inn, Eton. Maps, photographs, displays and artefacts provide engaging cultural snapshots, with the latest edition of “Windlesora” expected soon, still priced at £5! Windsor & Royal Borough Museum and Friends of the Museum will also be on hand to answer your queries!
