Celebrate World Book Day 2026 with a rare opportunity to see treasures from the Royal Library at Windsor Castle.

For a limited time, visitors can enjoy a curated display showcasing remarkable volumes connected to generations of the Royal Family.

Highlights include Queen Victoria’s personal copy of Jane Eyre, alongside the journal entry in which she reflects on the novel; Prince Philip’s beautifully bound edition of The Lord of the Rings; and Queen Elizabeth II’s cherished childhood copy of Black Beauty.

These historic books will be available to view at selected times each day, offering a unique glimpse into the literary interests of members of the British royal family.
