Covid 19 update: Following the move to Tier 4, it's not possible for Ascot Carriages to operate our carriage rides at the moment, but if anyone is interested in a tour in 2021 please email info@ascot carriages.co uk and we will contact you once restrictions are lifted or we return to Tier 3.
Please read the latest under the facilities tab below (Covid-19 Response) regarding restrictions on group sizes and steps we are taking to make our carriage rides safe for all our visitors. The advertised dates can change according to the weather forecast so we recommend guests call on Mondays to confirm what rides are available that week.
Carriage tours start from outside The Savill Building at The Savill Gardens, Wick Lane, Englefield Green, TW20 0UJ (4 miles south of Windsor Castle).
The award-winning Savill Building is the main visitor centre for Windsor Great Park with cafe, shop plus all the visitor facilities and plenty of parking.
The carriage can be found one mins walk to the right of Savill Building by a Cream House, with our sign to mark the spot.
Travel through this beautiful Royal Park away from traffic, and relax and unwind as you discover the area from the comfort of an elegant horse-drawn carriage.
Your carriage driver/guide can provide history and lesser-known facts about the area.
We operate all year round, between 11am and 3pm, on selected dates*.
Rides are weather permitting; pay by bank transfer on the day.
You may reserve your special date up to 8 weeks ahead or call on the day (before 10am) to check we are operating.
Our country carriage has 6 seats but for weight and your comfort we accommodate max 4 adults, or 2 adults/child combination (60stone/380kg limt).
Have a photo taken with our family-friendly carriage horse and our historic carriage which was previously used by the late Lieutenant-Colonel Sir John Miller, Her Majesty The Queen's Equerry and horsemaster for 26 years.
We have easy-rise steps and handrails for the less mobile.
Ascot Carriages is a small family business fully insured to offer a personal and professional service including luxury carriages for weddings, film work and exclusive carriages to Royal Ascot.

What could be more romantic than travelling on an elegant horse-drawn carriage and stopping by a beautiful 18th-century lake?
We believe we have one of the best places in the country to propose, hidden away in the heart of Windsor Great Park.
Take a stroll to the Georgian footbridge with diamond-patterned balustrade and decking, the ideal place to go down on bended knee.
Call Jo on 07811 543019 to see how we arrange the surprise. The back-up plan – should the weather prevent the carriage operating – is a covered area in The Savill Garden; a bridge by the stream all ready for you!
From £140.
Contact Jo to make a reservation or for more information 07811 543019 or email info@ascotcarriages.co.uk.
