Capturing the Elegance of Windsor and Eton (a full day from 10am to 4pm, refreshments, lunch and cream tea included £135).
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, and the Queen of England’s favourite. Crossing over the River Thames from the castle takes us into Eton where the celebrated Eton College (arguably the most famous school in the world) is located. The Photographers' Salon offers you a creative, fun and memorable way to explore Windsor and Eton. It is a photography experience, led by a professional photographer. We will take you to the fine sights of Windsor and Eton as well as explore the hidden corners and backstreets off the tourist track. Camera angles, good framing and composition, as well as good lighting are highlighted. All kinds of cameras will do, even your mobile phone. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn and develop your photography skills whilst exploring the area. Given the small group size (max 8) and led by a professional photographer, we can assist beginners through to advanced photographers. Basing ourselves at the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel also adds indulgence and elegance to the day.
The Savill Garden (half day 10am-1pm, refreshments and entrance fee included £75)
The Savill Garden is Britain's finest ornamental garden. It's a garden for all seasons and a place of beauty and colour that's loved by horticulturalists and enthusiasts alike. Visitors can journey through 35 acres of interconnecting gardens and exotic woodland. Every garden has its own unique attraction, featuring a distinctive group of plants that introduce a fresh burst of vibrant colour throughout the seasons. This instructional and creative workshop will look at how best to photograph the flora and fauna within The Savill Garden. We will consider lighting, backgrounds, the use of colour and composition. We will show you how to use macro settings and creatively use depth of field so you go away with some beautiful plant portraits. All kinds of cameras will do, even your mobile phone. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn and develop your photography skills whilst exploring the gardens. Given the small group size (max 8) and led by a professional photographer, we can assist beginners through to advanced photographers.
Cumberland Lodge and the Great Park (full day 10am-4pm, refreshments, lunch , tea and cakes included £135)
Cumberland Lodge is a 17th-century Grade II listed country house hidden away in Windsor Great Park. It is the largest house in Windsor Great Park and was built in 1652 on land which Oliver Cromwell had appropriated from the Crown. It is in this house, steeped in history, that we are running this instructional and creative workshop. We will look at how best to photograph architecture, artifacts, still life as well as how to capture the full beauty of the surrounding landscape. We will consider perspectives and viewpoints, explore patterns and scale, shape and details at Cumberland Lodge. After lunch at Cumberland Lodge we will head out in the park to capture its beauty and scale. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn and develop your photography skills whilst exploring this magnificent house and its surrounding landscape. Given the small group size (max 8) and led by a professional photographer, we can assist beginners through to advanced photographers. Basing ourselves at Cumberland Lodge adds indulgence and elegance to the day. A truly memorable experience.
